Nice place big cover an lots of seats
Ah Oak Flats what a magical palce for Magical Mountain Mabon every year! Love this area, local facilities are tops (toilets could use a makeover, hence four stars), locals are nice and don't bother. Even at capacity this is an excellent campground for the family with amenities for multiple days and nights, we go when there is a huge event every year and the experience is again, tops. This year the park staff were excellent about clearing the bear proof trash cans, thank you!
The Oak Flats trail system is connected to the Oak, Yucca and Locust Group Picnic Sites, so bring some grub and enjoy a day in the forest. The site has restrooms, picnic tables, parking, and trash receptacles. The site also has camping options.

The Oak Flats Mountain Bike Trail is a trail series located just east of Albuquerque in the Cibola National Forest. Depending on your route, this trail system is ideal for the beginner rider with plentiful smooth singletrack and relatively flat terrain.
To get there from Albuquerque, drive east on I-40 to Exit 175 toward Tijeras, NM. Drive south for 9 miles on NM 337 (also known as James McGrane Memorial Highway). Look for the brown "Oak Flat - Cibola National Forest" sign, on the east side of the road. Turn left (east) onto Oak Flat Road and follow it for .39 miles to reach the picnic ground. Alternatively, you can continue east on Oak Flat Road passed the picnic grounds. Look out for a dirt parking area off the side of the road on your left. This parking area connects to the Oak Flats trail.
the Oak Flats Mountain Bike Trail is a good option for beginner and highly skilled riders alike. Once you get comfortable with the routes, you can easily separate to celebrate the thrills of the sport within your individual comfort levels.
